Description

A board with decoration on it, for a change. The border carries geometric mosaic work and the squares have a marbled look, all under a high gloss, so it reads more like an inlaid tabletop than a plain chessboard. Underneath the playing surface is a compartment for the pieces: lift, store, close. Customers buy it to sit under pieces they already love.

The board

Dust with a soft, dry cloth, wiping along the grain.
Do not use detergents, solvents, spray polish or silicone furniture sprays.
Never let water sit on the surface. On veneered and inlaid boards it can lift the veneer.
Keep away from direct sunlight, heaters and air conditioning vents. Sun fades timber unevenly and dry heat can open joints.
Avoid big swings in humidity. Timber moves.
Store flat or upright and supported, not leaning against a wall.
On folding and storage boards, do not force hinges, latches or drawers.
Keep the felt bases dry.
