As a primarily online chess enthusiast, for the longest time I was searching for a wooden chess set that bordered a premium feel but didn’t plunder the cheque account. Something that upon display sparked curiosity from guests, but wasn’t too extravagant given my meagre online rating.

It’s tournament size fulfils the hope that maybe with enough practice, I might feel confident enough to walk into a club. Yet its affordability spoke to my more pragmatic side in the realisation that this will never happen.
