Description

Three games in a case that fits a glovebox. Chess, draughts and backgammon, with magnets in the pieces strong enough that you can turn the board upside down mid-game and nothing moves. One customer keeps it in bed with a chess book to try out positions. Fold it shut and the pieces live inside. Light, plastic, and hard to break.

This one is ours. We curate it, and have it made in China by factories we have worked with for years.

Making our own is how we keep control of two things: what the product actually is, and what it costs. We choose the materials, the weighting and the finish, and we check what turns up. It is the reason our tournament gear and club sets are priced the way they are.

Care & maintenance

The most forgiving material in our range.

Wipe with a damp cloth. Mild soap is fine for marks. Dry afterwards.
Do not use solvents, methylated spirits, acetone or abrasive cleaners. They dull or soften the surface.
Hand-painted and antiqued finishes should be wiped gently, never scrubbed.
Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight. Plastic and resin can yellow.
Keep the felt bases dry.

This magnetic chess set is perfect for chilling in bed with a chess book and trying out moves. You can even flip the board upside down and the pieces stay put thanks to the magnets. I really like it as it ticks all the boxes and the price is great for the quality.
