The closest thing to a paved board. Heavy rubberised vinyl squares click together one by one into a full-size court, and once it is down it stays down, through sun, rain and a summer of games. It is the board for people who want giant chess to be permanent and would rather skip the paving.

Care & setup outdoors

The board

Built for outdoors, so these are the exception to most of the rules above.

Hose them down, or wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap.
No solvents or abrasive cleaners.
Sunlight is fine. The plastic carries a UV-protective film.
If your pieces are weighted with water, empty them before long storage and before frost.
If weighted with sand, use dry sand and keep the cap closed.
Cover or store the set if it will not be used for months.
Check pieces stand level before play. Soft ground and long grass topple them.
