Description

A wooden case that opens into a board with letters and numbers down the side, holds two games, and closes on all of it. The chess pieces are wooden and magnetic, so a game can move rooms with the position intact. One mother leaves it open on the table and says the kids just gather round and start playing.

About the maker

This one is ours. We curate it, and have it made in China by factories we have worked with for years.

Making our own is how we keep control of two things: what the product actually is, and what it costs. We choose the materials, the weighting and the finish, and we check what turns up. It is the reason our tournament gear and club sets are priced the way they are.

Care & maintenance

Dust with a soft, dry cloth, wiping along the grain.
Do not use detergents, solvents, spray polish or silicone furniture sprays.
Never let water sit on the surface. On veneered and inlaid boards it can lift the veneer.
Keep away from direct sunlight, heaters and air conditioning vents. Sun fades timber unevenly and dry heat can open joints.
Avoid big swings in humidity. Timber moves.
Store flat or upright and supported, not leaning against a wall.
On folding and storage boards, do not force hinges, latches or drawers.
Keep the felt bases dry.

I am very happy with my purchase. The carry case/board is well made, solid and attractive. The play pieces are easy to handle. Recommended.

Chess board

Overall the product is good. However with the magnetic board, there is not e light shielding where the pieces are stored so the pieces don’t fit properly when trying to store them. Definitely a design flaw.

Well built and a very nice finish it will last a long time

The puzzle that came with the order was a real brain teaser LoL it had 2 people stumped for hours but we got there in the end
