Description

The board for our biggest giant chess pieces. The squares are rubberised vinyl, and the giant checkers play on it too. It lies flat on any hard surface, and it rolls up when it has to move. Schools, clubs, hotels and venues buy this one and leave it down all year round.

Each square has real weight, so the board stays put once it is down
Black and white squares, easy to read from a distance
Recommended: optional safety edges, angled ramps that stop a trip at the border

Best for playgrounds, resorts and big gardens.

Care & setup outdoors

The board

Built for outdoors, so these are the exception to most of the rules above.

Hose them down, or wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap.
No solvents or abrasive cleaners.
Sunlight is fine. The plastic carries a UV-protective film.
If your pieces are weighted with water, empty them before long storage and before frost.
If weighted with sand, use dry sand and keep the cap closed.
Cover or store the set if it will not be used for months.
Check pieces stand level before play. Soft ground and long grass topple them.
