Toledo Studio Chess Set - 35cm Mahogany Chess Board with 75mm Wooden Staunton Pieces

The Toledo Studio is one of our compact sets, made for the kind of space a larger board would overwhelm - a studio, an apartment, or a corner of the coffee table. The board is the heart of it: handmade in Spain and inlaid from real Mahogany and Sycamore, deep reddish-brown squares set against pale ones under a soft matte finish. This is a genuine inlaid wooden board rather than a printed or surface-finished one, and it's what lifts the Toledo above the usual budget set.

It comes with our wooden Staunton Chessmen in Cream and Brown - solid hardwood, double weighted, so they sit firmly on the board and feel substantial as you play. They're an honest, everyday-quality set rather than a finely carved showpiece, which is what keeps the whole thing affordable. Each set includes a spare Queen in both colours, ready for the moment you promote a pawn. A zip-up bag is included to pack the pieces away between games.
