20 Years Later

First bought 20 of these sets from Chessworld nearly 20 years ago for a school I worked at. When I left this school 8 years ago, all 20 sets were still going strong despite 12 years of regular use. Now retired, I have bought this set for my 5 year old granddaughter. Pleasant surprise is that the chess set costs much the same as it did 20 years ago. Great value and very appealing to children.

If you play chess competitively this is a great set to have. The double-weighted pieces feel good & are more sturdy - particularly for blitz games. The silicone board easily rolls up for transport or storage & then unfolds completely flat.

The photo's on the site do not do justice to this set. It's simply beautiful. Solid pieces with good detail, very good board both practically and visually and really makes you want to play the game. The extra Queen is a great idea. No more using taken pieces or token objects to represent a new Queen = better game experience. Delivery was so slick and professional. Thank you Chess World.
